Introduction
The District Plan review has been identified as a key issue affecting Tangata Whenua. Tangata Whenua have also identified on previous occasions the need for meaningful consultation to be undertaken when undertaking changes to the District Plan.
Tangata Whenua Resources
Existing relationships which enable Tangata Whenua input into the District Plan Review process include:

An additional resource to be made available for the District Plan Review process is a Tangata Whenua Advisor who will provide independent technical assistance to Tangata Whenua. This person will be skilled in resource management issues and the District Plan review process, and someone with knowledge of issues to Tangata Whenua. The Advisor’s contact details will be available here once this person is appointed.
Hui
Four initial Hui have been held with Tangata Whenua to discuss the Review and to scope out key issues as part of the first step of the District Plan Review Process. The details of these Hui and the key issues identified are as follow.
