The City Plan review has been identified as a key issue affecting Tangata Whenua. Tangata Whenua have also identified on previous occasions the need for meaningful consultation to be undertaken when undertaking changes to the City Plan.

Additional resources made available for the City Plan Review process are Tangata Whenua Advisors to provide independent technical assistance to Tangata Whenua. The requirements for this role were people skilled in resource management issues and the City Plan review process, and people with knowledge of issues to Tangata Whenua.
